Play Spite and Malice Online

Spite and Malice is a sequencing card game in which you race to empty your personal Goal pile before your opponents.

Build shared piles in numerical order, use wild cards to fill gaps, and organize your discards to prepare your next move. Play free in your browser against computer opponents, with no download required.

If you enjoy planning card sequences in Solitaire, Spite and Malice adds a competitive twist: every card you play can create an opportunity for another player.

How to Play Spite and Malice

Your objective is to play every card from your Goal pile. Only its top card is available, so clearing that card reveals your next target.

At the start of each turn, your hand is automatically filled to five cards. Play available cards from your hand, the top of your Goal pile, or the top of one of your discard piles onto the shared building piles.

Each building pile starts with a 1 and continues in order up to 12. A completed pile is cleared, making room for another sequence. Wild cards can stand for any number from 1 to 12.

Keep playing while useful moves are available. To end your turn, place one card from your hand onto a discard pile.

Goal Pile, Building Piles and Discard Piles

Goal pile: your personal stack to empty. Playing its top card is the key to winning, even when other cards are easier to use.

Building piles: shared sequences that all players can use. Check which number each pile needs before choosing a move.

Discard piles: storage for cards you keep between turns. Only the top card of each pile can be played, so the order of your discards matters.
